Hammerson has secured National Amusements’ luxury cinema brand Showcase Cinema de Lux for its £50million leisure extension at Centrale, Croydon. This is the first pre-let to be announced for the redevelopment and the new cinema in Croydon will be the American brand’s first London location.
The 1,900-seat, 11-screen cinema will form a key part of the new leisure offer at Centrale, which will also include two flagship retail stores and eight new restaurants for popular dining brands.
Lawrence Hutchings, Hammerson Managing Director UK Retail commented: “This is fantastic news for Centrale and to secure the first National Amusements’ cinema for London is a testament to the strength of Croydon’s retail potential. The new brand will deliver an unparalleled entertainment experience for our visitors, delivering the very latest blockbuster films in surroundings that complement the new leisure offer for Centrale.”

Tuesday Tales takes place every Tuesday from 11am – 1pm.
On the 2 and 3 December we held a public exhibition regarding our exciting new proposals for Centrale which include a cinema and family restaurants.
